Real-estate development encompasses much more than the removal of the existing but useless building structures and the remediation of the soil and the groundwater. Real-estate development is an interdisciplinary task, which covers the whole process from decommission of the current use of the property until begging of the new economic activities on the site. In this context, BIG is an all-encompassing service provider in and around the property and its new utilization:

• Obtaining the necessary planing rights
• Preparation of the infrastructure
• Obtaining the required permits
• Subsidy and financing management (brownfield release, structural development aid and financial subsidies, banks)
• Investor consulting regarding financing, permits, etc.
• Marketing for publicizing the developed land
• Business development for project companies

Together with the city of Ilsenburg, BIG is an investor in the „Ilsenburger Grundstücks- entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH“ (Ilsenburger Real-estate Development Company). Within this PPP-Company, created for revitalization of no longer utilized sections of the steel-mill Ilsenburg („Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH“) and the old copper refinery Ilsenburg, BIG is responsible for the business development, the subsidy management, the project manage- ment and planning as well as services related to Marketing of the developed properties.
