BIG is profoundly engaged as a partner in research projects at universities, businesses, federal ministries, and public institutions throughout the federal states. In this way, we are active in the development of new technologies and methods, and are then able to transfer the gained insights into our daily projects.


Within the framework of professional development and training courses, we shape the transfer of innovation and knowledge which promotes an interdisciplinary exchange of expertise. Through project coordination and the substantial adaptation of research, BIG is involved in various research and development projects with the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research), the Federal Environmental Ministry, and the State Environmental Ministry.

In order to solve complex tasks, we have a wide range of cooperative working relationships with specialized companies and institutions (universities, engineering firms, law firms, and professional authorities). Particularly close cooperative working partnerships have been established since 1997 with Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, Campus Suderburg, where Professor Harald Burmeier, researches and teaches in the fields of project management, land restoration, and environmental remediation. BIG’s direct connection to research and development is thus available. In addition, our theoretical and comprehensive experienced way of thinking and work ethic enables us to approach new problems outside conventional possible solutions at a whole new level.
